History Along the Delaware River

The Delaware River Basin is rich in history from Indian village sites to George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River. There are numerous historic battlefields, buildings, and infrastructure. Sites such as the Roebling Bridge, Zane Grey Museum, Roebling Museum, Minisink Battlefield, National Canal Museum, Washington's Crossing, Penn Treaty Park, and hundreds of others are spread along the length of the river.

Day planners will often plan trips to these sites or present programs that highlight the history in the section of the river being paddled. Check the day plans for programs and historic information for each day.
